What was everyones biggest disappointment after finding a CD they'd searched for ages for? After Demonstration and Kicked And Klawed, both of which I love, once I heard a collection of Cats In Boots demo material had been released in Japan called Last Works I searched high and low (and bid ridiculously high amounts on eBay) for a copy. Eventually got one, and was soooooo disappointed when I listened to it. I know it was a bunch of unfinished demos but f*ck me it was a piece of shit!

At the time, I was really disappointed with Motley Crue's Generation Swine. The whole Vince returns thing, I was looking forward to more cock rock. It has since grown on me though.

WILD BOYZ... I look for the album during years after watching the video on the MTV "I don't wanna cry no more" and when I finally got it it was nothing special...

I didn't search all that long, but Raging Slab's Sing Monkey Sing sure stunk compared to their excellent previous albums.

Pretty Boy Floyd - 'Leather Boyz...'
Over-produced steaming pile of arse. Should have
known, really, after clocking the awful cover.

Most KISS CDs.

Most CDs with either Gary Cherone or Sammy Hager
vocalising on.

The limp, tokenistic 'punk song' on most rock
CDs nowadays, especially if they written/produced
by 40something, former Hollywood Boulevard-botherers.

Duran Duran - 'Astronaut'.
Their third bite of the cherry has gone to their
heads a bit, and they've sold out to the Man.
Sadly, the Man, is an ageing 40something who thinks
'dance music' is what 'all the kids are down with'.
The Modern - www.themodern.co.uk - are
better.

Theoretically, it should have been all the best
bits of Stone Temple Pilots (how many decades did
they go under-valued?) and G'N'R. In reality,
it's a bit hit and miss. When it hits, though,
it really hits. When it doesn't, it all a bit
self-indulgent - music written by rich rockstars
with too much time on their hands for pondering.

I remember back in the day, seeing a band photo of NITRO...big hair and the works. I hunted around to get some music from them...Finally, found and bought their cassette...and was disapponted bigtime.
The terrible fast-fingering guitar with no melody...as if just to show how fast he could play...and the screeching cat with diareah vocals that made dogs in the neighborhood run with their tails between their legs.

Horrible.

Nitro, I think, are a good example of a circa'80s
glam band who tried to tick too many boxes. It
was just too much, right? Then again, Malmsteen
always gets a bad press - and he should, because
he's been a real fool over the years - but I can
happily listen to his fret-nonsense all day.

I remember Cherry St. getting on my tits too, be-
cause, if I remember rightly, their singer had
one of those growly Dee Snider sort of voices -
which, to me, is about as sexy as having my jewels
rubbed with a cheese grater.
